Humidity questionIn the Ron Kivit and Stephen Wiseman book Emerald Tree Boas and Green Tree Pythons: Care, Breeding, and Natural history it states that ETB's feel at ease with terrariums filled with thick fog. I was just wondering what you guys think of this statement. For me that doesn't seem like a good idea. It seems that this would create a good environment for bacteria. And I don't think that's what ETB's experience in the wild.
they also talk about the importance of airflow and lowering the humidity at night in the same paragraph.
I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to run a fogger for an hour each day, like seen in dartfrog enclosures but I don't do it myself,
ofcourse having thick fog in your enclosure 24/7 is a bad idea, bacteria will love it and you can't see the beautifull animal inside.
so I think as long as you keep your airflow up (very important) high humidity shouldn't be a problem (keeping up the humidity is another problem)

i run a fogger on a button timer for an hour here and there during the day . often i can keep 80% to 90% dropping to 40-50% at night. once daily misting most days rite on the snake. never full fog in my cage just a little here and there.
I run spray nozzles set to go on for a couple of minutes 2 times a day in the summer, up to 4 minutes 3 times a day in the winter.
I find that 60% RH, and above are in the range that works best for me.
I also have a computer fan on each of my adult cages that is set to run for a couple of hours, a couple of times a day , year round.

airflow + humidity = healthy snakes
ya airflow would be best. my vision cage seems like its fairly closed off from the rest of the world . i think i may try the computer fan trick....
